She's Crafty

I like to create. Making things with my hands has always brought me joy and made me feel complete. When I go too long without making something, I get unbalanced - I NEED to create.

My son loves plush. He has a HUGE plush collection that he is immensely proud of. He plays with his plush all the time, and still keeps them immaculate. He is so like me as a child, taking such careful care of his toys. He is me art director. He will often say, "Mommy, can you make me a plush of (a character from a video game he likes)?" Then we will find a photo on the internet, a photo he choses that is the correct representation of that character, and I will create a plush around it. I rarely sketch anything out like a proper designer, I just form a picture in my head of how it will look and I begin creating it. Occasionally I will make myself a pattern, which I am trying to do more often, so I can both create it again in the future, and also maybe start selling some of my patterns. Maybe.

He is a meticulous art director - all of the details need to be just so - I can't do any of these requests half-heartedly, he will KNOW. So my plush-making skills are really improving, which is pretty darn cool. I currently have a backlog of his requests that is about a dozen plush long. I'll get there.

    1. Thank you so much! Occasionally I do, I'll make extras when I make something and sell those. I always announce when I do. I haven't done anything in a long time though.
