Migraine! What Do I Do???


I've written about this before, how celery has saved me from migraines. Today I talk a little more about celery and other things I do when migraines threaten.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to support your adrenals while healing. I am only recently getting the depth of the importance of this, because our adrenals are everything. If our adrenals are stressed, we cannot heal properly. If we are not supporting them properly by eating a balance of potassium, sodium and natural sugar (from fruit), eaten every 60-90 minutes, they will have to work extra hard, secreting adrenaline into our bodies to keep us going. More adrenaline into the body means more food for the viruses that keep us chronically ill.

The world we live in puts undue stress onto our bodies constantly, so it is even that much more important to keep our adrenals supported. This means keeping out the foods not to eat: gluten, dairy, eggs (even free range, even duck. Yes, ALL eggs, even quail), soy, canola, corn, MSG in ALL of its forms, pork, farmed fish, artificial sweeteners (including table sugar) - for these foods feed those viruses. And supporting our adrenals with healing foods, eating adrenal snacks often - every 60-90 minutes for optimal healing.

Anthony William has created a list of adrenal snacks to keep us going and help us get what we need to best support our bodies:

* Apple, celery, and dates

* Orange, avocado, and spinach

* Sweet potato, kale, and lemon juice

* Cucumber, avocado, and lime juice

* Banana, dates, and romaine lettuce

* Coconut water, dried apricots and celery

* Coconut water, banana, and spinach

* Pear, berries, and mache

* Mango, figs, and celery

* Oranges, cilantro, and butter lettuce

* Raspberries, tangerines, and green leaf lettuce

* Berries, raw honey, and cucumber

* Apple, dates, and collard greens

* Banana, grape, and red leaf lettuce

* Apple, cauliflower, and cucumber

* Watermelon with lime juice, and celery juice

Also to head off migraines, keeping hydrated is so so important! Every day I make sure and drink either aloe, ginger, lemon and raw honey water or coconut water and my smoothies, teas with raw honey, celery juice and lemon water. Gotta keep hydrated!

So to recap: keep the NO foods out, adrenal support is KEY, and hydration is super important. Migraines, you are not welcome here!
