#victorycheck - Sweaty and Dirty

Yesterday was Day 4 of the Advanced Liver Rescue Cleanse, round 2, from the Medical Medium book, "Cleanse to Heal"

I had a very busy and productive day! I made all the foods for myself and my family. I washed the dishes. I trimmed an entire ficus tree (the one growing in the basement here) - lots of reaching and stretching! I took ALL of my 4, 5 and 7 gallon containers of plants outside for the day and then brought them back in again once it was dark. I repotted almost all of the rest of my seedlings, except the red jalapenos - well, I did repot those into slightly larger nursery pots.
Some of these things pushed back the times of my getting in my foods in a timely manner, yet at the end of the day I still made and drank my tea! So although it wasn't "perfect", I still managed to do pretty well and have enough energy to do ALL of those things! That's a pretty big deal! I got sweaty and dirty and did heavy lifting and running back and forth and so much reaching and stretching, and I am just standing in gratitude for my ability to do any of this at all, because I know that just a couple of years ago, I could not have done this.

But here I am, strong enough to not only do one strenuous physical task, but several. This is a #victorycheck if ever there was one! Yesterday, while I was trimming the ficus - the first of my physical tasks of the day - my mother-in-law said, "Be careful, you'll be so sore tomorrow." Only I know something she doesn't know. I'm not. My recovery time has gotten so much quicker! I can do things now that would have taken me DOWN to even try part of them years ago, and I'll be okay the next day. And THAT is because of the Medical Medium information and how far I have come, how much I have healed.

So yesterday being day 4, in addition to the energy to do physical tasks, I was also having some emotional flashbacks. SO random! Memories of past events that were upsetting in some way were just coming up. Random times throughout the day, while I'd be making food or doing  task, suddenly some memory would float into my consciousness. Then it would leave, and shortly after another train of thought would pull into the station - a different time in my past.

I'm not a fan of the memories, but thanks to Medical Medium, I know why they are happening, and that part is a good thing. My liver is releasing them, letting them detox out, along with whatever toxins were stored alongside of them. And I say good riddance! And the beauty of it all was that understanding that meant I didn't let any of them take hold of me, I didn't stress about it, I just knew they were coming up and out to move on. Having the knowledge of what's really happening during a cleanse is freedom!

Thank you thank you thank you Medical Medium for these amazing cleanses, for the information to heal, for your tenacity, strength, courage and compassion. Your sacrifice is everything.

Liver Rescue 369 Advanced Cleanse Wrap-Up [Medical Medium Healing]

I just finished Round 1 of the Advanced Liver Rescue 369 Cleanse from the Medical Medium book, "Cleanse to Heal". Before that I did the Original 369. I am feeling so pleased with the results I am seeing that I'm going into another round immediately to keep this momentum going, so today is officially Day 1 of Round 2 of the advanced 369!

What results? Lowered inflammation in my body - little bits of soreness that were starting to happen, gone. Lowered inflammation also means lowered edema - the edema my ankle likes to sport off and on - and mostly on for the past year or so - it's drastically lowered. I suspect a few more rounds might disappear it completely. Less water retention - my face and body are looking thinner. My level of energy throughout the day is better - I'm more consistently able to do the tasks I set out to. The brain fog I'd begun experiencing again before the cleanse has lowered significantly.

And of course, I have been giving my liver the food that supports it the most, in the order that supports it the most - and that in and of itself feels amazing to know! The healing that is taking place that I don't even see? That's the really good stuff.  Medical Medium says our bodies are much smarter than our minds, and much smarter than we know (my paraphrasing, forgive me), and I have learned that truth as I have been on this healing journey. I have learned to trust my body and to trust the Medical Medium information because it works! The results speaks for themselves even when we think we're not seeing the ones we want. Time and perseverance has taught me that trust.

All of this is enough to keep me wanting to do more rounds of this cleanse, and to talk about all that I'm experiencing! So of course, I made a video doing just that. Link is in my profile if you'd like to hear more.

Also, I'm joining in on the @laurenhenryhealth #cleansetohealbookclub on Instagram - I've already finished this amazing book, but I'm raring to go back through chapter by chapter and discuss it with other members of this fantastic community of healing warriors! So follow the hashtag on Instagram to join in with us, share your thoughts in your own posts using that hashtag, and feel free to continue the discussion on other members' posts!

What's Up Wednesday #53 - Raw Cleanse Watermelon Summer

For summer, I have been consuming watermelon with lime after my celery juice every day since watermelon has been available, and I plan to do so for the duration of having access to watermelon. Who else is all about that Watermelon Summer life?

Watermelon is so incredibly hydrating. It's rich in mineral salts. It's pre-digested, easy for the body to assimilate. It's great for the skin, for flushing toxins. I have already seen a reduction of the edema in my ankles and feet in the week or two that I have been consuming it! 😮 And hey, it's incredibly delicious! What's not to love?

Along with Lauren Henry Health, @laurenhenryhealth, I'm also doing another round of the @medicalmedium 28 Day Raw Cleanse. As I am already overt fat-free to give my liver a
much - needed rest, I will also be salt-free, as I find that raw food
needs no salt enhancement the way cooked food does.

Thus my Raw Cleanse Watermelon Summer! I talk more about my healing experience as of late in my latest video, link is in my profile. Will you be joining us for the Medical Medium Raw 28 Day Cleanse in June? We're starting June 1st, let me know, the more the merrier!

Marinated Mushrooms [Recipe][Medical Medium Healing]

Recipe for Marinated Mushrooms!
(Printable Recipe Here
1 or 2 packages of mushrooms, sliced - I used baby bellas, but you could use button, whatever you like
Juice of 1 lime
1/4-1/3 cup Coconut aminos
1-2 Tbs Maple syrup
1/2tsp ea:
Curry powder
Chili powder
Coriander
Garlic powder
Onion powder
Paprika
. 🍄🍄🍄
.
Place all in large bowl and stir to coat all mushroom pieces. Now the next step I like to do, but it's not necessary, you can just let the mushrooms marinate for an hour or two of you like. OR you can spread them on a dehydrator sheet and dehydrate them for an hour or two. I use half this mix (one package total) per bowl of #MMspinachsoup, but you do you, boo. Whatever you like. 🍜🍄🍜 These are also amazing in salads, atop cucumber noodles, on potatoes, in sauces... Enjoy!

Raw Sweet and Sour Cauliflower [recipe]

Today I made a new food, and it was delicious! Raw Sweet and Sour Cauliflower
based on a cooked recipe by @lovethroughplants which we will try next. She has some amazing plant-based recipes, go check out her delectable Instagram.

🌱🌱🌱

Raw Sweet and Sour Cauliflower
(raw, vegan, fat-free, plant-based, medicalmedium)

6 c cauliflower florets
1/2 c sundried tomatoes
10 Medjool dates
1 c hot filtered water for soaking
2 Tbs lemon juice
1 clove garlic
1/4 c onion
1/2 thumb ginger
Salt & Pepper to taste
Sesame seeds and chopped scallions to top

Soak dates in hour water until soft, about 15 min. Then use soak water to soak tomatoes until softened, also about 15 minutes. When soft, put all in high-speed blender except cauliflower, sesame seeds and scallions. Add soak water to thin and blend. In lg bowl, coat cauliflower with sauce. Put on 2 dehydrator trays and dehydrate@110° for several hours until done. Taste every couple of hours because you can't wait. 😊

Serve plain sprinkled with sesame seeds and scallions, or over a bed of potatoes or leafy greens or add to a salad or noodles.

Cucumber Radish Delight [recipe]

I have been so in love with simple meals lately, and this salad has quickly become a favorite. Based on the Medical Medium recipe.

Cucumber Radish Delight (raw, fat-free, vegan, paleo, medicalmedium, plant-based)

(printable recipe here

2 cucumbers, sliced (and peeled if they have wax)
5-6 radishes, sliced thinly
several sprigs fresh dill, chopped
1/8-1/4 red onion, diced
juice of 1 lemon
maple syrup to taste
S+P to taste

Toss to combine. I'm sure this would be even better if left to marinate for about 30 minutes, but I can never manage to wait.

What's Up Wednesday #11 - No Fat Thyroid Rehab [Medical Medium Healing]

Today is Day 66 of the 90 Day Thyroid Rehab Challenge, Option C from the Medical Medium "Thyroid Healing" book.

Yesterday I was fat-free, salt-free, and I did the Pocket Gym! Woohoo! AND I went on an evening walk and didn't crash, I'm so happy about that!

More #victorycheck s afoot! I went into a shoe store FULL of rubber and offgassing and I was okay, no crash! We did henna on my hair and I was still okay. Then on Saturday I crashed in the middle of an evening walk after forgetting to have some glucose first. Oh no!

Getting in enough food when that food is just fruits and vegetables seems to be an ongoing lesson for me. Making up for the caloric density of fats with just fruits and vegetables certainly is a learning curve, and one it's taking me plenty of time to master.

Speaking of fat, Medical Medium did an amazing live question and answer about protein on Facebook here, I highly recommend watching it for some fantastic information about how the body works and what it really needs.

What's Up Wednesday #6 - Emotional Detox [Medical Medium Healing]

Day 38 of asparagus juice

Day 25 of the 90 Day Thyroid Rehab Challenge

Last week I did 6 days straight of raw. Now I'm ready for the Medical Medium 28-day raw cleanse with 10% fat. So that's what's next!

Emotional detox has been happening too. Random stuff from high school, loss of relationships, creating big feelings. I'm using my emotional tools from my toolbox, ones I learned in Detox Mastery with Muneeza. Emotion Code being one. I've been releasing trapped emotions from my body and it has been so powerful.

Another technique to let go of a relationship that's no longer working is cord cutting, which I describe in the video. I've used it and found it to be quite effective, so check it out if you think it could be useful to you.

One of my favourite shows that Medical Medium has done, about chronic illness and what it's like, is called "Soul's Gold". I'd call it an incredible emotional healing tool, it's helped me through some hard times. Loss of relationships, loss of self-worth, loss of trust, all of those things effect a person deeply. This isn't an easy journey we are on, and sometimes it helps to be reminded of why we are here.

What's Up Wednesday #3 - Asparagus Juice Update [Medical Medium Style]

I've been drinking asparagus juice plus eating asparagus for dinner for a couple of weeks now, and have seen some interesting results. I'm seeing more clearing out of toxins, of course, and I've also been in a small flare of shingles symptoms since I started the asparagus juice, lobelia and ALA (the latter two being shingles fighters specifically).

I'm just witnessing it, because cleaning stuff out is a great thing, and I know how important the healing benefits of asparagus are. And I guess the Universe wants me to keep doing it, because there keeps being organic asparagus at Costco - which is NOT a regular thing to have at my Costco, by the way. So I'll just keep on juicing it and watching the results.

I have also joined the 90 Day Thyroid Rehab from the "Thyroid Healing" book, in a movement started by @fortheloveoflyme on Instagram - many of us are joining in to do this together. This first 30 days, in addition to our regular food routine, we are making sure to include:

✓ 32oz lemon water every morning first thing
✓16oz celery juice 30 min later
✓at some point in the day, another lemon water
✓also 24oz aloe/ginger/lemon water

And of course, staying off the "NO" foods:
🚫gluten
🚫eggs
🚫dairy
🚫soy
🚫corn
🚫MSG including nutritional yeast
🚫canola
🚫pork
🚫farmed fish
🚫artificial sweeteners including table sugar

I also promised some asparagus juice recipes, the ones I like.

The first recipe I made is here in my previous blog post

Two more recipes I like are:

Asparagus Sunrise (printable recipe here)

1 bunch (1 pound) asparagus
2 grapefruits
1 thumb ginger
1 cucumber

Juice and enjoy!

The Age of Asparagus (printable recipe here)

1 bunch (1 pound) asparagus
2-3 large oranges
1 thumb ginger
1 cucumber

Juice and enjoy!

What's Up Wednesday #2 - Asparagus Juice Experiment [Medical Medium Style]

I'm doing a fun asparagus juice experiment inspired by Costco having organic asparagus. I bought a whole case! I'm juicing it and eating it for at least a month, provided Costco has it that long. I made a video about it, the link is in my profile. Go watch! I talk about that and the healing benefits of asparagus in the video. Go see!

From the Medical Medium blog (where there is also even more information): Asparagus is a fantastic healing vegetable that is high in essential minerals such as selenium, zinc, and manganese which are vital for a strong and healthy immune system. It is also high in vitamins A, K, and B-complex including folate which is a building block for a healthy cardiovascular system.

Asparagus contains aspartic acid which is an amino acid that neutralizes excess amounts of ammonia in the body that is often the cause of exhaustion, headaches, and poor digestion. Asparagus contains significant amounts of healthy fiber and protein which helps to maintain blood sugar levels, prevent constipation, stabilize digestion, and stop the urge to overeat.

Asparagus also contains a compound called asparagine which is a natural diuretic that breaks up oxalic and uric acid crystals stored in muscles and in the kidneys and eliminates them through the urine. This natural diuretic is helpful in reducing water retention, bloating, and swelling in the body.

Asparagus is also high in glutathione which is an antioxidant powerhouse and particularly beneficial for those suffering with autoimmune conditions, liver disease, heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. It is known to help strengthen the liver, kidneys, skin, ligaments, and bones and it’s chlorophyll content makes it a great blood builder.

Asparagus also contains inulin which encourages good bacteria in the gut that boosts nutrient absorption and helps to keep the immune system functioning properly.

Here's the recipe for the juice I make (printable recipe is here):

Asparagus Delight

I bunch asparagus (about a pound)
1/2 large lemon with rind
2 red apples
1 cucumber
(optional) 1 thumb ginger
Juice it all up and enjoy!
